Big culture change has led to early success in the Men's Basketball program here at College of Lake County. Head Coach Tim Bowen, didn't go with the bandaide approach and bring in a bunch of transfers, but rather laid his foundation with mainly freshman and a few returning sophomores. His philosphy has paid off as the Lancers won 2 games all last year, but have entered the 1st semester break with 8 total wins this season. Bowen and his team look to continue to build on early success as they return to action after Christmas break is completed. The Lancers are led by freshman guard, Justin St. Louis, who is averaging 10.8 points and 5.2 rebounds per game while shooting 33% from the 3 point line. St. Louis, a Vernon Hills, IL native has also been impressive on the defensive end, averaging 1.6 steals per game. Freshman forward, Randal Holm, Volo, IL native, is second on the team in scoring, averaging 10.3 points per game. while bringing down an impressive 5.7 rebounds per game. Other freshman contributors include forward, Marcus Antonie, Deltona, FL native (7.1 points, 5.2 rebounds) and guard James Glazebrooks, Anderson, IN native (6.0 points, 3.8 rebounds), and while Sophomore guard, Roderick Bell, Grayslake, IL native (3.3 points, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steal) has provided great leadership both on and off the court. The Lancers will look to continue their success in the second half of the season as they open up the second semester January 10th with a conference battle at home vs. Waubonsee CC (10-2) at 7:15pm.
