The College of Lake County Lancers came up short against John Wood Community College on Friday, falling 3-1 (25-21, 21-25, 25-27, 15-25) in a competitive non-conference matchup.
Rylee Bode led the Lancers offensively with 13 kills, while Skylar Brown added 8 kills to keep CLC in the fight. At the net, Madison Schippel provided a strong defensive presence with 4 blocks/block assists, helping to slow down the John Wood attack.
Despite flashes of strong play and a strong start in the opening set, the Lancers were unable to sustain momentum down the stretch. CLC looks to regroup and bounce back in their next outing as they continue to battle through the heart of the season.
