Softball Looking to Make Postseason Run

The College of Lake County softball team (30-18) is set to open postseason play in the NJCAA Region 4 Division II Quarterfinals on Friday, May 2, at Noon. The #7-seeded Lancers will face #10 seed Illinois Valley Community College (17-19) in the opening round of the double-elimination tournament hosted by Bryant & Stratton College in Milwaukee.

CLC enters the 16-team field riding momentum and looking to avenge a 6-4 regular season road loss to Illinois Valley back on April 12. The Lancers are one of four teams competing at the Bryant & Stratton pod, joining the host and #2-seeded Bobcats, #15 Prairie State College, and Illinois Valley.

The winner of the weekend pod advances to the Region 4 Semifinals next weekend, hosted by Black Hawk College in Moline.

With a balanced roster and 30 wins under their belt, the Lancers aim to make a deep postseason run and get to Moline with a shot at the Region 4 title.
