Announced on August of 2022, coach Tanner Morris was named as the head coach at the College of Lake County Women’s basketball program and is in his third season in leading the Lancers program.
In his first season as head coach of the Lancers, CLC finished the season 3-25. He inherited a roster that had saw three players with experience from the prior season and had six players new to the college game of basketball.
His second season saw a 19-win improvement, and the team had the biggest turn around all of NJCAA women’s basketball, led by freshman Mariya Sisco and Chloe Sisco earning a spot on the 2nd Team All-Conference and freshman Kennedee Clark along with sophomore transfers Mariah Smith and Camira Sardin earning Honorable Mention All-Conference during the season.
Morris specialized in recruiting and with player development at his last 3 schools and will continue to utilize his strong recruiting pipelines in the Midwest. Coach Morris brings great passion, excitement, work ethic, and knowledge of the game of basketball to the Lancers program. Morris also coordinated team travel, strength and conditioning, film breakdown, as well as being the academic liaison in previous positions. He will also serve as the athletic department's communications coordinator.
Prior to coaching, Morris attended Illinois Valley CC and was a member of the men’s golf Program and men’s basketball manager for 2 years. He completed his bachelor's degree in Sports Management from Lincoln College- Normal (09).
Coach Morris is a native of Normal, IL, where he graduated from University High School in 2002. He was a 4-time varsity letterman in golf and 2-year member of the boys basketball program.
