Sam Choy

Now entering his second season at the College of Lake County, Coach Sam Choy is a former college volleyball athlete who brings more than 15 years of coaching experience at the high school, college, and club levels. Before joining CLC, he served as the head women’s volleyball coach at Moody Bible Institute (NCCAA Division II), leading the program from 2013–2015 and again from 2020–2023. During his tenure, he was twice named NCCAA Division II Midwest Region Coach of the Year (2014, 2015). His coaching background also includes four years as an assistant varsity coach at Warren Township High School and over a decade coaching regional and national club teams.

Off the court, Coach Choy is an accomplished marketing and business executive. He currently serves as Vice President and Chief Marketing & Strategy Officer at Moody Bible Institute and has also taught as an adjunct business faculty member at several colleges in the Chicagoland area. Prior to his role at Moody, he spent more than 25 years in the corporate sector.
