Men's Soccer went on the road to knock off previously unbeaten Region IV foe Carl Sandburg, 2-0.

The Lancers knotched their first win of the season and snapped Carl Sandburg's season-opening unbeaten streak with a 2-0 defeat of the Chargers on Monday afternoon in Galesburg. The Chargers (2-1-2 overall, 0-1-2 Region IV) were limited to just six shots on goal in being kept off the scoreboard for the first time this season.

The Lancers (1-3 overall) got on the board early after a collision in the box that resulted in a penalty kick. Olgar Medina calmly stepped up and converted it to get on the board, 1-0. The Lancers doubled their lead in the 20th minute as Santiago Hernandez hit a blistering shot from 30 yards out that snuck just inside the post.

Kyle Swanson earned the shutout and the Lancers earned a victory. Next up is a home conference match vs Elgin Community College on Thursday, September 5th at 4:00 PM.
