The College of Lake County Men's Soccer team battled to a hard-fought 1–0 victory on Saturday over the Dominican University Reserve Squad. The Lancers displayed poise, discipline, and resilience across 90 minutes, earning their first shutout of the season.

From the opening whistle, CLC looked confident in possession and organized defensively. Goalkeeper Denny Matute rose to the occasion, making several key saves to deny Dominican scoring opportunities. The Lancers' back line of Eric Ramirez, Ivan Andrade, Oscar Campa, and Edgar Castellanos put in a standout performance, staying connected and strong in one-on-one situations to protect the clean sheet.

In the midfield, sophomore Alex Kreminsky dictated the tempo of play. His ability to distribute under pressure and maintain composure allowed CLC to control long stretches of the match.

The game's defining moment came midway through the second half. Ramiro Diaz stepped into space and unleashed a spectacular 30-yard strike, catching the Dominican goalkeeper off his line and firing the Lancers into the lead. The goal energized the squad and proved to be the difference as CLC closed out the match with composure.

Head Coach Brad Earnest praised the team's all-around effort, highlighting the combination of defensive resilience and attacking creativity.

"This was the kind of performance that shows what we're building; discipline, composure, and a belief in each other," he said. "I'm proud of the way our guys competed."

The 1–0 win reflects a total team performance and provides momentum as the Lancers continue their non-conference schedule.
