The 2022 CLC Women's Tennis team has started their fall competition with several matches against both NCAA Division III schools and NJCAA junior college rivals. The Lancers' women's tennis team took on Elmhurst College and Carthage to begin the season. The team won its first two junior college dual matches against Elgin 9-0, and Oakton 8-1. The competition got tougher as the Lancers lost a close match to McHenry 5-4 in two double tie-break match points. Illinois Valley defeated CLC in a closely contested match by a score 7-2. The match featured CLC losing four matches in match tiebreakers. Sauk Valley also managed to edge the Lancers in tiebreaking sets, to earn a 6-3 victory.
The team's members are gaining experience fast. This fall's team has only one returning starter from last year's undefeated season. That returning player is CLC's number one player, sophomore
Mia Falconi. Mia has only lost one match this season. Mia hopes to lead her teammates
Eliza Marino, a sophomore, and freshmen
Bethany Lintner, Dani Broege, Kat Danilushkin and
Caelah Palumbo,
to success at the upcoming regional tournament,
The Lancers tennis team has three more dual matches before they compete in the NJCAA Division IV Regional Tennis Tournament on October 7th and 8th at Moraine Valley Community College.
