Sasha Baer Named Region 4 Women’s Tennis Player of the Year

College of Lake County's standout freshman, Sasha Baer, has been named the Region 4 Women's Tennis Player of the Year after an exceptional season capped by dominant performances in both singles and doubles play at the regional tournament.

Baer claimed the Region 4 Singles Championship, showcasing her trademark composure, consistency, and competitive fire throughout the tournament. She continued her impressive run by teaming up with sophomore Linnea Lindstrom to win the Region 4 Doubles Championship. The duo's victory was especially sweet, as they avenged their only two losses of the season; defeating both teams that had beaten them earlier in the year to claim the regional title.

Baer's outstanding play and leadership helped lead the Lancers to a successful season. Her recognition as Region 4 Player of the Year is a testament to her work ethic, skill, and ability to rise to the occasion when it matters most.

"Sasha has been locked in all season long." "She's earned every bit of this honor through her dedication and competitive drive. To win both the singles and doubles titles and avenge earlier losses shows just how special of a player she is."

With the Region 4 titles secured, Baer's season stands as one of the best in the College of Lake County women's tennis program.  Baer and Lindstrom will both be heading to the NJCAA National Tournament as Doubles Partner as well as Baer will compete at the NJCAA National Tournament in singles held in May.
