The College of Lake County women's tennis team wrapped up their regular season against MATC in a closely contested match, falling just short in a 4-5 decision.
The Lancers opened strong, splitting doubles play as Sasha Baer and Linnea Lindstrom continued their dominant partnership with an 8-2 victory at #1 doubles.
In singles action, Valerie Mendoza earned the first point for CLC with a 6-4, 6-2 win at the #5 position. Baer followed with a commanding 6-1, 6-1 win at #1 singles, finishing the season undefeated in singles play and clinching the top seed for the upcoming regional tournament.
Danielle Gatta, Melanie Garcia, and Lindstrom all battled through tight, competitive matches. Lindstrom capped off the day with an impressive come-from-behind win, taking her match tiebreaker 12-10.
Despite the narrow team loss, the Lancers head into Regionals at Park Forest on October 10–11 with strong momentum and confidence.
