The College of Lake County women's tennis team edged out a thrilling 5-4 victory over College of DuPage.
Sasha Baer set the tone at #1 singles, staying undefeated on the season with another dominant win. Linnea Lindstrom followed with a strong performance at #2 singles, extending her own winning streak. Danielle Gatta added the third point with a commanding win at #3 singles, while Melanie Garcia fell at the #4 spot. In a marathon battle at #5 singles, Valerie Mendoza showed grit and composure, pulling out a 10-7 tiebreak win to secure a crucial point for the Lancers.
With the match tied 4-4, Baer and Lindstrom sealed the victory in emphatic fashion, rolling to an 8-0 win at #1 doubles to clinch the team win.
The Lancers will close out their regular season on Sunday, October 5, at Lakes Community High School in Lake Villa, taking on MATC at 1:00 p.m.
