The Lancers' #1 doubles team of Linnea Lindstrom and Sasha Baer set the tone early with a dominant 8–1 win to secure the first point of the match. At #2 doubles, Melanie Garcia and Danielle Gatta battled back to force a tiebreaker before narrowly falling 7–9.
Baer and Lindstrom carried their momentum into singles play, picking up two more points with convincing wins (6–0, 6–0 and 6–3, 6–1) at the #1 and #2 positions. Gatta and Garcia showed resilience in marathon matches, each pulling out gritty victories in third-set tiebreakers to add two more points for the Lancers at #3 and #4. Valerie Mendoza continued her winning streak at #5 singles, cruising to a 6–1, 6–0 victory.
The women are showing steady improvement with each match and now look ahead to their next contest against McHenry County College on Thursday, September 18, at 2:45 p.m. at the Crystal Lake Park District courts.
