The College of Lake County Men's Cross Country team traveled north to Winneconne, WI to compete in the KollegeTown Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. The men placed 32nd and were the only NJCAA team to post a team score.
As he has all season, Victor Mares (FR/Zion, IL), led the Lancers with a Personal Record of 28:59 over the 8k course. Sophomore, Vidal Ortega (SO/Round Lake Beach, IL), once again was #2 man with a 31:17 crossing the finish line in 398th in a field of 452 finishers.
Rounding out the scoring for the Lancers were Alexander Garcia (SO/Zion, IL), Roberto Garcia (FR/Gurnee, IL) and Jeffrey Adamczyk (FR/Antioch, IL) finishing 405th, 423rd and 429th respectively.
"I'm extremely proud of these men and their progress so far this season," stated Head Coach Jorge Colin, "we weren't at full strength today but there is no doubt they are all focused and ready for next week's championship race."
The Lancers will race for the first time in Illinois this season as they head down to Galesburg for the Illinois Skyway Conference Championship and NJCAA DI Region IV Championships on October 26th hosted by Carl Sandburg College.
