Lancers Finish 5th amongst a field of all NCAA DIII

Against NCAA DIII schools your Lancers team placed 5th at the 2019 Tom Hoffman Invitational hosted by University of Wisconsin – Whitewater.

In week 2 of the season, Victor Mares (FR/Zion, IL) was front man again and led the Lancers with a 30th place finish with a time of 30:03. In another promising performance, Freshman, Payton Taylor (FR/Grayslake, IL), was 52nd with a time of 31:35 followed closely by another Freshman, Roberto Garcia (FR/Gurnee, IL) in 54th with a time of 32:04.

Rounding out the scoring for the Lancers was Vidal Ortega (SO/Round Lake Beach, IL) in 57th and Alexander Garcia (SO/Zion, IL) in 60th. Also competing for the Lancers was Jeffrey Adamczyk (FR/Antioch, IL) finishing in 69th.

"Our Freshmen trio in the front are responding well to our program, our 4 and 5 work together nicely and are coming around. We should see less of a gap at Parkside." stated Head Coach Jorge Colin.

The Lancers will take a week off from competition and travel to the University of Wisconsin Parkside on September 28th for their third race of the season.
