Box Score 2 After a pair if victories this past week, Women's Soccer has six wins in a row and sits up top of the Skyway Conference and the Region.
On Wednesday, October 2, the Lancers traveled to Moraine Valley Community College, winners of the last 4 Region and Skyway Conferene championships. CLC came out strong and got an early goal from Rachel Moore (SO/Antioch, IL) after a great through ball from Claudia Hernandez (FR/Round Lake, IL) that split Moraine's defense. After withstanding a intense Moraine attack the rest of the 1st half, the Lancers picked up a second goal from Moore on an assist from Victoria Medina (FR/Hainesville).
The Cyclones continued to fight to the end, creating a lot of chances, but were eventually shut down by goalkeeper Giselle Raygoza (FR/Round Lake). After the game, Coach Kevin Talbot stated, "Our defending really held on today. Annalyse Maze (FR/Vernon Hills) saved a shot off the goal line and the whole group refused to give up a goal."
On Saturday, October 5, the Lancers hosted the Bulldogs from Daley Communuty College. Due to injuries, Daley brought a short-handed squad and CLC came out with a 19-1 victory. Moore and Desareih Juarez (FR/Waukegan) scored 3 goals a piece, while Jasmine Macias (FR/McHenry) scored twice.
Riding a six-game winning streak, the Lancers have one game this upcoming week at Waubonsee Community College on October 9, before facing their last 2 region opponents at Kishwaukee College on October 14 and Oakton Community College on October 16.
