The College of Lake County women's soccer team earned a hard-fought 1-0 road victory over Triton College on Saturday, using an early goal and a strong defensive effort to secure the win.
The Lancers broke through in the 20th minute when sophomore Olivia Christy headed home a cross from freshman Stephany Galvan to give CLC the lead.
With the advantage, the Lancers faced sustained pressure from the Trojans but remained organized and disciplined defensively throughout the remainder of the match. CLC held strong, keeping Triton off the scoreboard and preserving the shutout.
Sophomore goalkeeper Evelyn Czarnik played a key role in the victory, recording three saves to help lead the Lancers' defensive effort.
The win improves CLC's overall record to 7-3-1 on the season as the Lancers continue to build momentum with another impressive defensive performance on the road.
