The College of Lake County women's soccer team closed out its Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference schedule in dominant fashion Wednesday, defeating the Oakton College Trojans 6-0 to finish the conference season undefeated at 6-0 and claim the Skyway Conference championship.
The Lancers wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, as freshman
Denise Acosta opened the scoring in the fourth minute by converting a ball knocked away by the Oakton goalkeeper into CLC's first goal of the match.
Just nine minutes later, sophomore
Olivia Christy doubled the Lancers' lead, heading home an Acosta corner kick. The goal marked Christy's second consecutive game with a header goal.
CLC continued to apply pressure, adding its third goal in the 16th minute when freshman
Jocelyn Lopez found the back of the net off an assist from sophomore
Yatziri Martinez Gomez. Lopez struck again just four minutes later, scoring her second goal of the match on an assist from sophomore
Milanie Martinez to give the Lancers a commanding 4-0 advantage heading into halftime.
The Lancers picked up right where they left off in the second half. Just 90 seconds after the restart, freshman
Madelyn Glanton scored CLC's fifth goal of the afternoon, finishing a pass from sophomore
Kaylan Acosta.
The final goal of the match carried special significance for the Lancers. Sophomore
Evelyn Czarnik scored her first career collegiate goal after freshman
Stephany Galvan split the Oakton defense with a well-placed through ball, setting up Czarnik on a breakaway to complete the 6-0 victory.
Defensively, the Lancers recorded another shutout behind freshman goalkeeper
Genesis Hurtado, who made one save on the day to preserve the clean sheet.
The victory capped an outstanding conference campaign for CLC, which finished 6-0 in Skyway Conference play to secure the conference championship without a loss. The Lancers' balanced attack and strong defensive performances throughout the season helped establish them as the conference's top team.
With their conference schedule complete, the Lancers will look to carry that momentum into the remainder of their 2026 season.
