The College of Lake County women's soccer team fell to the Lincoln Land Community College Loggers 4-1 Saturday in Springfield in the Lancers' final regular-season game of the year.
The two teams battled through a scoreless first half, with neither side able to find the back of the net. However, the Loggers came out strong after halftime, striking early in the second half and scoring four unanswered goals to take control of the match.
The Lancers continued to fight and found the scoreboard with 15 minutes remaining. Freshman
Madelyn Glanton scored on a header off a cross from fellow freshman
Stephany Galvan, giving CLC a late goal.
Despite the second-half setback, the match marked the conclusion of the Lancers' regular season as the team turns its attention to postseason play.
College of Lake County will now prepare for the NJCAA Region 4 playoffs, where the Lancers will look to carry their efforts into the postseason.
