Box Score

The Lancers earned the Region IV Crown with a dominant 4-1 victory over the four-time defending champion Moraine Valley Cyclones. College of Lake County Women's Soccer earned the top seed in the 2019 Region IV Tournament with a regular season record of 9-2 (9-1 in Region IV play). They have not disappointed this post-season. They defeated Kishwaukee 6-0 in the first round, and followed with a 2-0 win over Morton College in the semis. The Lancer's knew they would have to play their game to defeat Moraine Valley who has won the Region Championship four straight years in a row.

The Lancer's took an early lead off the strong leg of Alexandria Wawrzyniak when she put a shot in the upper right corner of the net to lead off the scoring. CLC's Rachel Moore then sent a header into the net off a corner kick assist from Rachel Denovo. This years Lancers have been led by Region IV Tournament MVP, Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference Player of the Year, and NJCAA All-American Nominee, Rachel Moore who netted two additional goals to give the Lancers an overpowering lead 4-0 and bring her post-season goal total to 10. Moraine Valley netted a goal late by Giselle Almazan to make the game 4-1. The Lancer's have now won 12 straight, in which their stifling defense has not yielded more than 1 goal in any contest.

CLC will host the NJCAA Great Lakes District next weekend on November 8 & 9. This will include Regional Champions from Region 3 and Region 12. Game times are to be determined with the overall winner advancing to the NJCAA National Championships in Melbourne, FL on November 18-23.
