Lancers Leaning on Hard Work and Competing

Box Score

This is a difficult start for any program, but for the Lake County Women's Basketball program, playing on the road for 4 out of their first 5 games is a daunting task, let alone one with such inexperience and limited roster size. However, the team has focused on the fundamentals of the game and competing to their best of abilities night in and night out. By executing and emphasizing the importance of hard work and competing, the Lancers have use their used their drive to improve daily to compete in each game. Additionally, the team has relied on Coach Morris to help them prepare scouting reports and strategy, as they will have a better understanding of the opponents and the difficult road environments. With proper preparation, the Lake County Women's Basketball program has competed in every game and continue to improve every day, despite their tough start to their season. Coach Morris said "It's not easy keeping the attention of 18/19 year old athletes when they are not winning, but I am extremely proud of the effort each of these girls have given me every day.  They show up with a great attitude and contiue to want to learn and improve. I wouldn't want to build a culture with any other group of players; This group of young ladies are helping this program move forward and start the beginning of something new and exciting at CLC. Lake County is an outstanding institution and we are excited to build this program from the ground up and take this program places we haven't been." The Lancers will conclude the 1st semester with 3 of their last 4 games at home.
