In the final road game of the regular season, the College of Lake County Lancers battled through illness and a tough shooting night to secure a gritty 54–43 win at McHenry County College.

Entering the game shorthanded after being hit by the flu, the Lancers' leading scorer was a game-time decision after falling ill early Sunday morning. Despite the setback, Head Coach Tanner Morris remained confident in the team's balanced scoring attack, noting it would provide an opportunity for others to step up and earn extra minutes.

That opportunity came on what proved to be the team's worst shooting night of the season. While the Lancers consistently generated quality looks, shots simply weren't falling. Refusing to let offensive struggles dictate the outcome, the team tightened up defensively and carried a 22–16 lead into halftime — their lowest halftime scoring total of the year.

Out of the break, the Lancers surged in the third quarter behind a flu-ridden Annamaria Luna, who knocked down two quick corner three-pointers off beautiful assists from Olivia Robinson to break the game open. From there, the Lancers never looked back.

Despite shooting just 28% from the field and connecting on only 4 three-pointers, the Lancers found a way to earn the hard-fought victory. Leading the way was Monica Sierzputowski with 17 points and 16 rebounds, followed by Arianna Myers with 15 points and 9 rebounds, while Luna added 11 points and 6 assists off the bench.

Coach Morris praised the team's resilience following the win, highlighting that the biggest takeaway was their refusal to hang their heads when shots weren't falling. Instead, they dug deep and found a way to win.

Next up for the Lancers is Sophomore Night — the final home game of the season — as they host Waubonsee Community College on Thursday at 5:15 PM.
