The Lancers women's basketball team has continued to compete every night and take steps in the right direction. The Lancers traveled to Oakton CC (21-4) on Tuesday night and fought hard to the end coming up short 80-52. The Lancers were led by Freshman forward Sydni Hill with 15 points and 17 rebounds, while sophomore guard Brooke Bennett chipped in 12 points and 6 assist.
Lake County Women hosted Elgin on Thursday, Feb. 16th to square off with the Spartans (8-18). The Lancers played their best game of the season Thursday night to take a 65-53 victory over the Spartans. The Lancers jumped out to a 36-26 halftime lead and never looked back. The Lancer's were once again, paced by the 1-2 punch of Brooke Bennett (So.) and Sydni Hill (Fr.). Hill paced the Lancers with a season high with 26 points and 23 rebounds, while Bennett dished out 10 assist and 19 points.
With the win the Lancer's now have a record of 2-21 and 1-9 in Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference play. The Lancers will travel to #1 Morton College on Tuesday (2/14) at 5:15PM and return home to host Moraine CC on Thursday (2/16) at 5:15pm.
