The College of Lake County women's basketball team opened its 2026-27 campaign in impressive fashion, earning a hard-fought 68-61 victory over Cuyahoga Community College at the Lansing CC Liftoff Classic in Lansing, Michigan.
The Lancers showcased a balanced offensive attack, with six players contributing seven or more points in the season-opening victory. Leading the way was Jade Warren, who turned in an outstanding performance with a game-high 23 points, knocking down 9-of-9 from the free-throw line. Addison Dolan added 12 points, while Mylee Boebel chipped in 10 points and pulled down nine rebounds.
Melissa Ketter, Aaliyah Hillard, and Amari Ogleton each contributed seven points. Ketter also made her presence felt defensively with four steals and seven rebounds, while Hillard finished with a team best +12 +/- rating.
Opening the season on the road against quality competition is never easy, but the Lancers showed toughness, resilience, and the ability to find contributions throughout the lineup when it mattered most.
While there is plenty of work ahead, starting the season with a victory is a great first step for this group. The Lancers will look to carry that momentum forward as they continue competition at the Lansing CC Liftoff Classic.
