Softball Sweeps Postseason Doubleheader

GAME 1: CLC 14 Oakton 4

College of Lake County delivered a dominant performance in a 14–4 victory over Oakton Owls on Friday, fueled by a big day from Olivia Peters both at the plate and on the mound.

Olivia Peters led the offense, going a perfect 3-for-3 with a single, double, and a solo home run. He also earned the win, allowing four runs on eight hits over 4.2 innings while striking out six and walking one.

College of Lake County jumped out to an early lead in the first inning when Emma Andrews singled to drive in a run. They added three more runs in the second, highlighted by Gretchen Hansen's sacrifice bunt and a two-run home run from Brock.

Oakton responded in the third inning with a three-run home run by Ishii, but College of Lake County quickly answered. Key hits from Gretchen Hansen and Tyler Brock, along with a walk by Megan Livingston, helped extend the lead.

In the fourth inning, College of Lake County put the game out of reach, scoring five runs on seven hits. Lindsey Radermacher hit a two-run home run, Olivia Peters added a solo shot, Gretchen Hansen drove in another run with a single, and an error brought in one more.

Overall, College of Lake County collected 16 hits, with Tyler Brock driving in a team-high three runs. Several players recorded multiple hits, including Cayden VonSande, Lindsey Radermacher,Gretchen Hansen, Emma Andrews, and Addison Schroeder. The team also showed patience at the plate with six walks and aggressiveness on the bases with six stolen bases. Defensively, they were flawless and did not commit an error.

GAME 2: CLC 3 Madison 0

Cayden VonSande delivered all the offense Friday, blasting two home runs to lead College of Lake County to a 3–0 win over Madison College.

Cayden VonSande put College of Lake County on the board in the second inning with a solo shot to center field, then added another home run in the fourth to account for all three runs in the game.

Pitching was strong on both sides, but College of Lake County had the edge. Cayden VonSande was dominant in the circle, allowing just two hits over 6.2 scoreless innings while striking out four and walking one to earn the win.

Etienne pitched well for Madison College, striking out eight over six innings while allowing five hits and three runs (two earned).

Defensively, College of Lake County was flawless, committing no errors. Brock led the team with four defensive chances.

For Madison College, Brooks and Svendsen each recorded a hit while batting back-to-back in the lineup.


Lancers will be back in action Saturday at 12:00PM to face the winner of MATC/Madison game at 10am.
