GAME 1: CLC 3 MATC 4
Milwaukee Area Tech College edged out College of Lake County in a tight 4–3 battle on Saturday, using late-game power to secure the win.
MATC struck first in the opening inning when Baldon launched a solo home run to left field. College of Lake County quickly answered in the bottom half, taking a 2–1 lead after Tyler Brock delivered an RBI single and Cayden VonSande brought in another run on a groundout.
The game stayed close as Roeper's single down the left field line tied it at 2–2 in the fourth inning. The decisive moment came in the top of the seventh, when Carani blasted a two-run home run to center field, giving MATC a 4–2 advantage they wouldn't relinquish.
On the mound, Nadia McCabe turned in a solid performance for College of Lake County, allowing seven hits and four runs (two earned) over 6? innings while striking out four without issuing a walk. Brzek was equally effective for MATC, going 6? innings, giving up just three hits and one run while striking out three and walking two.
Offensively, Tyler Brock, Megan Livingston, Sophia Zepeda, and Addison Schroeder each recorded a hit for College of Lake County, with Tyler Brock and Megan Livingston driving in one run apiece. Carani led MATC with two RBIs, while Brzek contributed at the plate as well, going 2-for-3.
Despite an early lead, College of Lake County couldn't hold off MATC's late surge, as the Stormers capitalized on timely hitting to take the win.
GAME 2: CLC 11 MATC 2
College of Lake County bounced back in a big way on Saturday, rolling past MATC 11–2 behind a dominant fourth inning explosion.
MATC got on the board first in the opening inning when Baldon doubled to bring in a run. College of Lake County responded in the second, taking a 2–1 lead after Sophia Zepeda ripped an RBI double down the left field line and Gretchen Hansen added another run with a groundout.
MATC briefly evened things up at 2–2 in the third on Tearney's sacrifice fly, but the game completely shifted in the fourth. College of Lake County erupted for seven runs, highlighted by a Megan Livingston two-run double, a Tyler Brock two-run single, and a three-run homer to center from Lindsey Radermacher.
They kept the pressure on later, as Cayden VonSande launched a two-run home run in the sixth to extend the lead to 11–2.
On the mound, Sophia Zepeda started for College of Lake County, allowing two runs (one earned) over two innings. Cayden VonSande was outstanding in relief, tossing 3? innings of one-hit, scoreless ball while striking out three. Lago took the loss for MATC, giving up two runs (none earned) over two innings.
Offensively, College of Lake County piled up 13 hits. Lindsey Radermacher led the way with three RBIs, while Tyler Brock, Olivia Peters, Megan Livingston, and Sophia Zepeda each recorded two hits in a balanced attack.
For MATC, Baldon drove in their only RBI and collected one of the team's three hits, joined by Knurowski and Roeper.
After a narrow loss earlier, College of Lake County turned the tables decisively, using timely hitting and a huge inning to secure the win and advance to next weekend Region 4 Final 4, giving themselves and opportunity to qualify for the NJCAA National Tournament.
