GAME 1: CLC 11 Bryant & Stratton 0
College of Lake County delivered a dominant all-around performance on Tuesday, blanking Bryant & Stratton College (WI) 11-0 behind a complete game shutout from Nadia McCabe.
Nadia McCabe was in full control from the start, silencing the Bryant & Stratton lineup and setting the tone for the Lancers defensively. The right hander worked efficiently throughout, keeping hitters off balance and preserving the shutout effort.
Offensively, the Lancers got rolling in the second inning. After Stark induced a fielder's choice off the bat of Cayden VonSande, College of Lake County pushed across the game's first run. They added to the lead in the third when Emma Andrews delivered a sacrifice fly to make it 2-0.
The Lancers broke the game open in the seventh inning, erupting for five runs on five hits. Megan Livingston started the surge with an RBI single, followed by Emma Andrews, who drove in two more with a base hit. Lindsey Radermacher capped the inning with a two-run single, extending the lead to 11-0.
College of Lake County's offense was relentless, piling up 17 hits on the day. Emma Andrews led the way from the heart of the lineup, driving in three runs while going 2-for-4. Lindsey Radermacher and Gretchen Hansen each collected three hits, while Tyler Brock, Olivia Peters, Megan Livingston, and Kaylin Worley all contributed multi-hit performances.
Bryant & Stratton was limited offensively, with Tennies accounting for two hits in as many at-bats. Despite turning a double play defensively, they were unable to slow the Lancers' offensive momentum.
With the win, College of Lake County showcased both dominant pitching and explosive hitting in a complete team effort.
GAME 2: CLC 10 Bryant & Stratton 7
College of Lake County battled through an early back-and-forth contest before pulling away for a 10-7 victory over Bryant & Stratton College on Tuesday.
The Lancers wasted no time getting on the board in the top of the first inning, capitalizing on defensive miscues and plate discipline. Two Bryant & Stratton errors, along with a bases-loaded walk by Addison Schroeder, helped push across three early runs. However, Bryant & Stratton responded immediately in the bottom half, stringing together key singles to tie the game at 3-3, highlighted by an RBI knock from Karls.
College of Lake County regained the lead in the second inning when Emma Andrews grounded out to bring in a run, followed by an RBI single from Kaylin Worley to make it 5-3. Bryant & Stratton answered again in the third, taking a 6-5 lead behind a two-run double from Beaudin and another RBI single by Karls.
The turning point came in the top of the fourth inning, when the Lancers erupted for five runs on five hits to seize control of the game. Olivia Peters delivered the biggest swing of the inning with a two-run single, sparking the surge that gave College of Lake County a 10-6 advantage.
Bryant & Stratton added a late run in the seventh on a solo home run by Foytik, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Lancers' offensive outburst.
In the circle, Olivia Peters got the start for College of Lake County, allowing six runs (four earned) over two innings. Cayden VonSande provided steady relief, tossing five strong innings while giving up just one run on three hits to secure the win.
Offensively, the Lancers totaled 12 hits, with Tyler Brock, Olivia Peters, Megan Livingston, and Gretchen Hansen each recording two hits. Olivia Peters and Addison Schroeder drove in two runs apiece, leading the charge in the middle of the lineup.
College of Lake County also applied constant pressure on the base paths, drawing six walks and swiping nine bases in an aggressive display. Megan Livingston, Gretchen Hansen, and Emma Andrews each recorded multiple stolen bases, helping keep Bryant & Stratton on their heels throughout the game.
With the win, the Lancers showcased resilience and explosive offense, using a decisive mid-game rally to secure the victory and finish the regular season with an impressive overall record of 36-8. Post Season play will be upnext for the Lancers as they have clinched the 2 Seed in the NJCAA Region 4 Tournament.
