The College of Lake County women's volleyball team opened the 2026 season on August 21 at the Opening Weekend Tournament, taking on a pair of challenging opponents on the first day of competition.

In their first match of the season, the Lancers faced Central Community College and fell 1-3. Despite the result, CLC saw several strong individual performances. Rylee Bode led the offensive attack with 15 kills, while Bode, Deirdre Lowery, Erica Randell, and Addison Kalmus each recorded two service aces.
The Lancers returned to the court for their second match of the day against Kalamazoo Valley Community College, where they battled hard but ultimately dropped another 1-3 decision.

Bode continued to make an impact offensively, recording 18 kills to lead the Lancers. Lowery provided a spark from the service line with four aces, while Daniella Mazzola recorded two solo blocks to anchor the defensive effort at the net.

Although CLC finished the opening day with two 1-3 losses, the Lancers showed promising individual performances and plenty of opportunities to build on as the young season continues. Bode's offensive production, Lowery's serving, and Mazzola's presence at the net highlighted a team that continued to compete against strong competition throughout the day.
