The College of Lake County Lancers put together an impressive Saturday, collecting two victories and continuing to build momentum early in the season.
In their first match, the Lancers battled past the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater at Rock County in a thrilling five-set match, winning 3-2. CLC's offense was led by
Rylee Bode, who recorded 17 kills, while
Deirdre Lowery added 12 kills and
Daniella Mazzola contributed 10 kills. Running the offense efficiently,
Erica Randell finished with 30 assists. Mazzola also made her presence felt from the service line, tallying 4 aces in the victory.
The Lancers carried that momentum into their second match of the day, defeating Joliet Junior College in straight sets, 3-0. The win marked CLC's first sweep of the season.
Gabriela Wychers paced the Lancers at the net with 6 kills and 3 block assists, helping anchor both the offense and defense as CLC controlled the match from start to finish.
The pair of victories showcased the Lancers' balanced attack, strong defensive effort, and growing confidence as they continue their season.
Next up, the Lancers hit the road to take on McHenry County College at 6pm on September 2nd.Â
