The College of Lake County women's volleyball team dropped its home opener on Wednesday evening, falling to Elgin Community College in four sets, 3-1. The match marked the first home contest of the season for the Lancers.

CLC battled throughout the match and was led offensively by Rylee Bode, who recorded a team-high 15 kills. Erica Randell directed the offense with 22 assists, helping the Lancers stay competitive against a strong Elgin squad.

From the service line, Gabriela Wychers and Deirdre Lowery each contributed three aces, providing key momentum swings for the Lancers. Wychers continued to make an impact on both sides of the net, while Lowery's aggressive serving helped keep pressure on the Spartans throughout the evening.

Despite the loss, the Lancers showed resilience and determination in front of their home crowd and will look to build on the positives as they continue their early-season schedule. The team's effort and energy in its first home match provide a strong foundation as CLC prepares for the challenges ahead.
