For the first time since 2013, the CLC Women's Soccer team has won the Illinois Collegiate Skyway Conference Championship. After a 4-1 win over Oakton Community College on October 16, the Lancers finished their conference season with a 5-1 record.

With their 9th victory in a row Wednesday, the Lancers have also secured the top seed in the Region 4 tournament beginning on October 27. The Lancers put up all four goals in the first half of their match against Oakton. Alexandria Wawrzyniak (FR/Round Lake) opened the scoring with a upper 90 blast twenty minutes into the first half. Five minutes later, Rachel Moore (SO/Antioch) continued the scoring with the first of her three goals on a beautiful pass from Rachel DeNovo (SO/Lakemoor). Moore also scored on a penalty kick with 3 minutes lef to play in the half and a finished her third goal out of the air on a long ball played from Mackenzie Parchment (FR/Antioch) with less than a minute to play.

Women's Soccer last won the Skyway Conference in 2013 after also winning in 2011 and 2012. From 2014-2018, the Lancers finished 5th out of 7 teams each year. When asked about the turnaround this season, Coach Kevin Talbot stated, "We just did a great job bringing in some of the best players in the Lake County area the last two years and they've proven themselves so far this season. This was a big first step but we still have a long way to go to accomplish everything we set out to do this year."

By claiming the number one seed in Region 4, the Lancers will host a quaterfinal game on October 27 against the 8th seed for a spot in the semi-finals of the Region tournament.
