The College of Lake County women's soccer team opened its 2026 season in impressive fashion Friday, earning a 1-0 road victory over the Bryant & Stratton College Bobcats in Milwaukee. After a scoreless first half, the Lancers broke through in the second half when freshman Alexa Vega found the back of the net to give CLC the lead. Sophomore Olivia Christy provided the assist on the game-winning goal. The Lancers' defense held strong for the remainder of the match, preserving the shutout and securing the season-opening victory. Freshman goalkeeper Genesis Hurtado played a key role in the win, making several important saves to keep Bryant & Stratton off the scoreboard. The victory gives the Lancers a 1-0 start to the season and provides an early boost heading into their home opener. CLC will return to action Wednesday, August 26, when the Lancers host Prairie State College in their home opener.
