College of Lake County took Monday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 10-9 walk-off victory over Bryant & Stratton. College of Lake County trailed 9-7 in the bottom of the seventh inning when
Emanuel Andujar singled on a 2-0 count, scoring three runs.
Bryant & Stratton jumped out to an early lead in the first inning when Piersen Pyan doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run. Bryant & Stratton added three more runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught by Bryant & Stratton was led by Danny Llanas and Ethan Toone, who each had RBIs in the inning. BSC led for majority of the game, and were looking to sweep the Lancers on their Home Opening Day.
College of Lake County had other plans, however, when they notched five runs in the sixth inning. College of Lake County's big bats in the inning were led by singles by
Noah Glidden and
Will Mattheis, a fielder's choice by Valentin Cerna Jr., and an error on a ball put in play by Andujar.
Logan Locy was the winning pitcher for College of Lake County. The righthander went one inning, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out one and walking zero.
Casey Kedzierski,
Brennen Miller, and
Eddie Wilson all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.
Ian Anderson took the loss for Bryant & Stratton. The pitcher went two-thirds of an inning, allowing three runs on two hits, striking out one and walking one.
Andrew Jack started the game for College of Lake County. The pitcher went three and a third innings, allowing five runs on three hits and striking out four Kleinek started the game for Bryant & Stratton. Kleinek allowed seven hits and two runs over four innings, striking out two and walking zero.
College of Lake County racked up 11 hits on the day. Andujar, Cerna Jr., and
Brayden Klesch each collected multiple hits for College of Lake County. Andujar went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead College of Lake County in hits.
The Lancers will next host Highland Community College this Friday, March 25th at 1pm for a double header, weather permitting.
