In the first home game of the 2024 season, the College of Lake County Lancers were up against the Moraine Valley Community College Cyclones. In a challenging encounter, the Lancers faced a tough defeat against the Cyclones, losing in 3 sets (10-25, 4-25, 22-25). Despite a determined effort, the team struggled to find their rhythm against a well-prepared opponent.
The first and second set saw the Lancers fall behind early, with the Cyclones capitalizing on tough serves and powerful hits. While the Lancers managed a few key rallies, the gap proved too large, and the set ended 10-15 and 4-25. In the final set, the Lancers put up a strong fight and were neck and neck for most of the third set. Unfortunately, they fell short in the last couple points for a set score of 22-25. Despite the loss, there were flashes of potential, and the team remains focused on learning from this experience as they prepare for the next match.
