Jacob Redker went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate as the College of Lake County (CLC) defeated Triton College, 11-3, on Wednesday afternoon at Triton College.
Redker singled in the second, sixth, eighth, and ninth innings, helping pace a CLC offense that racked up 15 hits. The Lancers broke the game open with a six-run fourth inning, highlighted by RBI hits from Hunter Loser, Blake Twito, Kyle Larson, and Albert Jaquez. Tony Gura also added an RBI groundout during the outburst.
Larson drove in a team-high three runs and went 2-for-4, while Twito, Jaquez, Angel Berrios, and Pratim Amin also had multi-hit games. Larson added two stolen bases as CLC swiped three total on the day.
Will Schufreider earned the win on the mound, allowing three runs on six hits across seven innings, striking out six and walking none. Southpaw Tayton Herron closed the door with two shutout innings in relief, striking out three.
Triton got on the board early with a first-inning RBI double from Kevari Thunderbird and turned three double plays defensively. Thunderbird, Sam Hays, and Luis Huguet each collected two hits in the loss.
CLC returns home Thursday to host Bryant & Stratton in their next matchup.
