College of Lake County easily dispatched Capital University on Wednesday at Vero Beach, FL, 15–5.
A single by Javy Rolon put College of Lake County on the board in the bottom of the first. College of Lake County added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after John Merk doubled to center field, and Rolon flew out, each scoring two runs. College of Lake County added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Merk hit a sacrifice fly, and Eiker Noguera singled to center field, each scoring one run. College of Lake County scored six runs on four hits in the bottom of the sixth inning. Ian McGowan singled, scoring two runs, Brett Poole singled, scoring one run, Jaydan Herrera singled, scoring two runs, and Trevor Meathe grounded out, scoring one run. Colton Ohm opened the game for College of Lake County. The hurler surrendered two hits and three runs over three and one-third innings, striking out four and walking four. #50 opened the game for Capital University. The starting pitcher surrendered 13 hits and 15 runs (12 earned) over six innings, striking out one and walking six. Brian Buchert and Jake Fredrickson each appeared in relief for CLC.
