The College of Lake County Lancers put together a complete performance on both ends of the floor, rolling past McHenry County College 71–38 behind stifling defense and balanced scoring.
CLC set the tone early, using defensive pressure to disrupt McHenry's rhythm and force tough shots throughout the night. The Lancers controlled the glass and turned stops into easy transition opportunities, allowing them to steadily build separation as the game progressed.
Monica Sierzputowski led the way with a dominant double-double, finishing with 23 points and 17 rebounds, while Annamaria Luna filled the stat sheet with 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. Arianna Myers added 14 points, and Olivia Robinson orchestrated the offense with 9 points and 10 assists.
Defensively, the Lancers were locked in from start to finish. A tremendous team effort held McHenry's leading scorer—who averages 17 points per game—to a season-low 3 points, showcasing CLC's commitment to defending every possession.
By halftime, CLC had established firm control, and the defensive intensity never dipped in the second half. The Lancers protected the paint, limited second-chance opportunities, and closed out the game with discipline to secure the convincing victory.
"We were really connected defensively tonight," said Head Coach Tanner Morris. "Our team took a lot of pride in guarding the ball, helping each other, and finishing possessions with rebounds. When we defend like that and share the ball on offense, we can be a tough team to play against."
The win highlights another strong all-around effort for the Lancers as they continue to build momentum moving forward.
