Peters’ Shutout Leads CLC Sweep

GAME 1: CLC 4 MATC 0

Olivia Peters threw a complete-game shutout to lead College of Lake County to a 4–0 victory over the MATC Stormers. Peters allowed just two hits in the dominant performance.

College of Lake County opened the scoring in the second inning when Gretchen Hansen grounded out, bringing home the first run of the game. CLC added another run in the third after Skye Meler grounded out to extend the lead.

Brzek took the loss for MATC Stormers. The pitcher went seven innings, allowing four runs on seven hits while striking out three and walking three.

Lindsey Radermacher and Megan Livingston each collected two hits for College of Lake County. Cayden VonSande, Radermacher, and Meler each drove in a run for CLC. The Lancers also stole three bases and turned one double play in the game.

College of Lake County played a clean game defensively, committing no errors. Meler led the team defensively with seven chances.

Neave and Roeper each recorded a hit for MATC Stormers, who also turned one double play in the contest.

GAME 2: CLC 6 MATC 3

Addison Schroeder collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats to lead College of Lake County to a 6–3 victory over the MATC Stormers on Monday. Schroeder recorded singles in the third, fourth, and sixth innings in the strong offensive performance.

College of Lake County got on the board in the top of the third inning when an error allowed the first run to score.

Sophia Zepeda earned the win for CLC, allowing three runs on 10 hits over seven innings while striking out three and walking none. Tearney started in the circle for MATC Stormers, giving up five runs (four earned) on 10 hits over six innings while striking out one and walking two.

College of Lake County totaled 12 hits in the game. Gretchen Hansen and Schroeder led the lineup, each driving in two runs. Cayden VonSande, Lindsey Radermacher and Emma Andrews also recorded multiple hits for CLC.

Megan Livingston stole two bases as the Lancers swiped six bases as a team.

For MATC Stormers, Brzek and Roeper each collected two hits. Lago, Roeper, and Baldon each drove in a run, and MATC turned one double play in the contest.
