GAME 1: CLC 0 JJC 3
Both teams showcased strong pitching on Saturday, but Joliet Junior College did just enough offensively to secure a 3–0 win over College of Lake County.
Joliet broke through in the bottom of the third inning when Henderson delivered a single down the left field line. The scoring was aided by a wild pitch, helping Joliet plate runs and take control early.
On the mound, Grimes earned the win for Joliet, tossing three innings of one-hit, shutout ball while striking out six and walking two. Mello set the tone to start the game, throwing two hitless innings with four strikeouts and one walk.
For College of Lake County, Brian Buchert turned in a solid performance despite taking the loss. The right-hander went five innings, allowing three runs (only one earned) on five hits, while striking out seven and walking one.
Offensively, Colton Ohm accounted for College of Lake County's lone hit, going 1-for-2 at the plate.
Joliet's lineup was led by Martin and Henderson, who each collected two hits while hitting back-to-back in the order. Defensively, Joliet was flawless, committing no errors, with Miller leading the way with 10 putouts.
GAME 2: CLC 10 JJC 7
Game 2 both offenses were firing on all cylinders Saturday, but College of Lake County came out on top with a 10–7 win over Joliet Junior College.
College of Lake County wasted no time getting on the board in the first inning, as Angel Berrios singled to bring home the game's opening run. He stayed hot all game, going a perfect 3-for-3 with singles in the first, third, and seventh innings.
Joliet answered in the second when Rhodes lined a single down the left field line to tie the game at 1–1. However, College of Lake County quickly regained control in the third inning. Luke Koeller delivered a two-run single to break the tie, and Trevor Meathe followed with an RBI groundout to extend the lead to 5–1.
Joliet chipped away at the deficit in the fifth inning when Lundeen launched a two-run homer to left field, but College of Lake County maintained its edge the rest of the way.
Blake Twito earned the win for College of Lake County, delivering a strong relief outing with four innings of two-hit ball, allowing just one unearned run while striking out eight and walking three. Police took the loss for Joliet Junior College after surrendering five runs (three earned) on seven hits over two innings, with three strikeouts and one walk. Matt Self, Tyler Budzien, and Jake Fredrickson also contributed in relief for College of Lake County.
At the plate, College of Lake County racked up 13 hits. Berrios and Eiker Noguera led the charge with three hits apiece, while Meathe and Julio Goyo each added multiple hits. The team also applied pressure on the bases, swiping three bags.
