College of Lake County mounted a strong comeback effort but ultimately fell short in a 9–7 loss to the College of DuPage Chaparrals on Monday. Despite the defeat, the Lakers showed resilience after an early deficit, while DuPage's offense powered them with 13 hits compared to Lake County's seven.

College of Lake County found itself in a deep hole early, trailing by eight runs after two innings. The Chaparrals wasted no time getting on the board in the first, highlighted by Kleinsasser's two-run double, followed by RBI singles from Betancourt, Kraft, and Terrutty to cap a six-run inning. They added two more runs in the second on a White RBI single and a sacrifice from Betancourt.

Lake County responded with a steady rally, chipping away at the deficit through a combination of timely singles, walks, and productive outs. Their persistence kept the game competitive, but they were unable to complete the comeback.

On the mound, Zander Locy got the start for Lake County, allowing four runs on three hits in just one-third of an inning. Miller started for DuPage and delivered a solid outing, giving up one run on two hits over five innings while striking out one and walking three.

Offensively, Colton Ohm led Lake County with two RBIs, going 2-for-4 from the plate. He and Luke Koeller each recorded two hits, providing a spark in the lineup. The Lancers also showed patience at the plate, drawing seven walks, with Angel Berrios and Julio Goyo each earning two. Eiker Noguera contributed on the base paths with two stolen bases as the team totaled four steals.

The Lancers will be back in action April 2nd as they travel to Milwaukee Area Tech for a 3:00pm game.
