LANCERS STUN #5 ROCK VALLEY WITH ELECTRIC WALK-OFF WIN

GAME 1: CLC 9   #5 ROCK VALLEY 13
Addison Schroeder drove in four runs on one swing, but College of Lake County came up short in a 13-9 loss to Rock Valley CC on Saturday at the College of Lake County.

Rock Valley struck first in the opening inning with an RBI double from Dannhorn, before Emma Andrews answered in the bottom half with a double down the left field line to even things at 1-1.

After Rock Valley regained the lead in the second on a sacrifice fly, they broke things open in the third, plating seven runs behind home runs from Spindel and Zellers.

The Lancers responded in a big way in the bottom of the third, scoring five runs on three hits. An error brought one home before Addison Schroeder delivered the biggest swing of the day, a grand slam to left, cutting into the deficit.

Rock Valley continued to apply pressure, adding three more runs in the fourth on another home run by Spindel to extend their lead.

In the circle, Sophia Zepeda got the start, allowing seven runs (two earned) over 2.1 innings. Olivia Peters provided relief, tossing 4.2 innings while giving up five runs (four earned) and striking out four.

At the plate, Tyler Brock and Emma Andrews each tallied two hits to lead the Lancers offensively.

Rock Valley totaled 12 hits on the day, led by Spindel's 3-for-5 performance with seven RBIs. Shaw also added three hits, while Allen chipped in two. Kennedy showed patience at the plate, drawing two of the team's four walks.

GAME 2: CLC 4    #5 ROCK VALLEY 3

It came down to the final swing on Saturday at the College of Lake County, as the Lancers secured a 4-3 walk-off win over #5 Rock Valley College.

With the game tied at three in the bottom of the seventh, Emma Andrews delivered the game-winner with a clutch double, driving in the winning run and sealing the victory.

Rock Valley jumped out early, taking a 2-0 lead in the first inning after a two-run single from Seitz. The Lancers answered in the third, tying the game at 2-2 behind an RBI single from Skye Meler and capitalizing on a Rock Valley error.

After Rock Valley regained the lead in the sixth on a solo home run by Henline, College of Lake County had one last response. In the bottom of the seventh, Tyler Brock sparked the rally with a double to center that tied the game, before Emma Andrews followed with the walk-off knock down the left field line.

Cayden VonSande was outstanding in the circle, tossing a complete game while allowing just three runs on seven hits, striking out six and walking one.

Tyler Brock, Skye Meler, and Emma Andrews each drove in a run for the Lancers, while Megan Livingston showed discipline at the plate with two walks as part of the team's four total free passes.

Defensively, the Lancers were flawless, turning a double play and committing no errors, with Tyler Brock leading the way with six chances.

College of Lake County will look to carry the momentum into Tuesday's match up against McHenry County College.
