GAME 1: CLC 4 Moraine Valley 5
Even though College of Lake County out-hit Moraine Valley Community College 12–10, they came up just short in a 5–4 loss on Friday.
College of Lake County struck first in the opening inning when Worley delivered an RBI single to give the Lancers an early 1–0 lead. The offense stayed active throughout the game, with Megan Livingston leading the way with three hits, while Tyler Brock drove in two runs. Lindsey Radermacher and Olivia Peters also added multiple hits as the Lancers totaled 12 on the day.
The turning point came in the bottom of the fifth inning. Moraine Valley used timely power to take control, highlighted by a three-run home run to center field by Loth after Sedlak had already doubled in a run earlier in the inning.
Olivia Peters got the start in the circle for the Lancers, going 4.1 innings while allowing four runs on eight hits, striking out four without issuing a walk. Tracy went the distance for Moraine Valley, allowing 12 hits but limiting the damage to four runs (three earned) over seven innings.
College of Lake County showed discipline and aggressiveness throughout, swiping three bases, two from Megan Livingston and playing flawless defense with no errors. Tyler Brock led the team defensively with seven chances.
Despite the strong all-around effort, Moraine Valley capitalized on one big inning, with Loth finishing with four RBIs and Sedlak collecting three hits to lead their offense.
GAME 2: CLC 9 Moraine Valley 6
Tyler Brock delivered a flawless performance at the plate, going 3-for-3 to lead College of Lake County to a 9–6 victory over Moraine Valley Community College on Friday.
Moraine Valley struck first with a solo home run from Sedlak in the opening inning, but the Lancers responded immediately with a statement. College of Lake County exploded for five runs on five hits in the bottom of the first to take control, highlighted by a two-run single from Emma Andrews.
The offense didn't slow down. In the second inning, Tyler Brock ripped an RBI single down the left field line and Emma Andrews added another run with a ground out to extend the lead. Tyler Brock stayed hot in the third, lacing a triple to left field as the Lancers pushed the advantage to 9–1.
On the mound, Cayden VonSande got the start before Sophia Zepeda handled the bulk of the work in relief, tossing 4.2 innings. Moraine Valley attempted to claw back late, but the early offensive surge from the Lancers proved too much to overcome.
College of Lake County showed strong discipline at the plate, drawing seven walks with Megan Livingston leading the way with three. The Lancers also applied pressure on the bases, swiping four stolen bases.
With the win, College of Lake County carries momentum into its next match up at home on Monday against the Triton Trojans.
