The Lancers (11-3) opened up Illinois Skyway Conference play with an 88-75 victory on the road at #8 Elgin Community College (14-2). Lake County jumped out to an early lead and never trailed in the game. At the break, the Lancers held a 39-32 lead. The lead swelled to as many as 19 in the second half before Elgin cut it to a 5 point game at 65-60. Big three point shots followed, one by Freshman wing

Jarod Stonis (Wauconda H.S.) which helped the Lancers pull away in the end. After the game Coach Fitzgerald stated "It was really our defense that won us this game. We did a tremendous job making Cortez-Harvey work for everything, and we won the rebounding battle by 21. A huge credit to our guys for understanding the scouting report, and then executing it. Stonis and Cunningham both grabbed 15 rebounds, and really controlled the game." Elgin guard Kelvin Cortez-Harvey entered the game as the second leading scorer in the region at 26 points per game.

Jaylin Cunningham (Waukegan H.S.) pitched in 19 points while grabbing 15 rebounds while
Anthony Thompson (Bolingbrook H.S.) contributed 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Aaron Greer (Wauwatosa West H.S.) finished the game with 13 points, 8 assists, and 5 rebounds.
The win moves the Lancers to 12-3 on the season and 1-0 in conference. The Lancers return home for a conference clash with Oakton Community College this Thursday at 7:15pm.
