Three players from the Men's Basketball team received All-Region IV and Illinois Skyway Collegiate All-Conference Team honors this week.
Jarod Stonis, Sophomore Forward, from Wauconda H.S. received Illinois Skyway Collegiate 1st Team All-Conference honors while also being named to the NJCAA Region IV 2nd Team. Stonis was among the top players in the country all season, where he averaged 17.8 points, which ranked 57th in the nation, 10.6 rebounds (13th) , and 1.6 steals per game.
Aaron Greer, Freshman Guard, from Wawatosa West H.S. received Illinois Skyway Collegiate 2nd Team All-Conference honors while also being named to the NJCAA Region IV 2nd Team. Greer was Lake County's leading scorer this season providing the Lancers valuable firepower anywhere on the court. Greer averaged 19.1 points per game (39th overall in the country) on 45.9% from the field while shooting 33.5% from beyond the arc.
Anthony Thompson, Freshman Guard, from Bolingbrook H.S. earned Honorable Mention for both the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference and Region IV. Thompson averaged 15.4 points, 4.8 assists, 4.6 rebounds per game while providing the Lancers with excellent defense where he averaged nearly 2 steals per game.
The Lancers are currently 19-11 on the season, and earned the 5 seed in the Men's Region IV District 4 Post-Season Tournament. College of Lake County will travel to Carl Sandburg College Thursday, February 27th for a 7:00pm tip-off in the first round.
