Game 1: 3-7
The College of Lake County was unable to hold off a late offensive surge from Morton College, falling 7-3 on Saturday at the Grayslake Campus.
After a quiet start, Morton broke the scoreless tie in the third inning with a sacrifice fly off the bat of No. 10. The Lancers battled back in the sixth, stringing together a pair of singles to tie the game. Hunter Loser delivered the game-tying RBI, making it 2-2 heading into the seventh.
However, Morton responded emphatically in the top of the seventh, erupting for five runs on just two hits. The key blow came on a bases-clearing double from No. 11, flipping the momentum and giving Morton a 7-2 advantage.

CLC got on the board early with a sacrifice fly by Nathan Husser in the second inning, but Morton answered quickly. A four-run third inning powered by consecutive RBI hits from No. 11, No. 9, and a two-run double by No. 25 gave Morton a lead they wouldn't relinquish.

Husser led the Lancers at the plate, driving in two runs and going 2-for-2 from the No. 8 spot. CLC totaled six hits in the game but couldn't string together the timely offense needed to close the gap.
Morton racked up 12 hits, with No. 25 leading the charge at 3-for-4 with three RBIs. No. 9 also posted a three-hit game, while No. 11 and No. 10 each had multi-hit efforts.
