GAME 1: CLC 1 Northwest Shoals CC 2

In a tightly contested pitcher's duel on Saturday, College of Lake County came up just short in a 2–1 loss to Northwest Shoals CC.

Both teams were strong in the circle throughout the game, but Northwest Shoals broke through in the bottom of the third inning with a pair of singles. The first run came across when #1 delivered an RBI single to give Northwest Shoals the early lead.

Olivia Peters got the start for the Lancers, recording 10 outs over 3.1 innings while allowing five hits and two runs (one earned). She did not issue a walk in the outing.

Offensively, Emma Andrews paced College of Lake County at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 to lead the team in hits.

Northwest Shoals received RBIs from both #1 and #12, who were difficult to navigate back-to-back in the lineup. #12 also led the way with two hits in three at-bats and was active defensively, making a game-high six plays. Northwest Shoals played a clean game in the field and did not commit an error.

College of Lake County will be back in action later with a matchup vs Snead State.

GAME 2: CLC 6 Snead State 5
 

College of Lake County walked it off in thrilling fashion on Saturday at 954 Leon Smith Pkwy, earning a 6–5 victory over Snead State — marking Head Coach Hannah Clark's first collegiate win at the helm of the Lancers program.

With the game tied at five in the bottom of the seventh inning, Tyler Brock came through with a perfectly placed sacrifice bunt to bring home the winning run and seal the walk-off win for College of Lake County.

The Lancers struck first in the opening frame after Skye Meler doubled to center field and Megan Livingston followed with a single down the right field line, each driving in a run to give CLC an early 2–0 lead.

Snead State battled back in the fifth inning when #1 launched a home run to center field to even the score at two. They took their first lead of the game in the top of the sixth after #9 doubled to center field and #10 added a sacrifice fly to make it 4–2.

College of Lake County responded in the bottom of the seventh with a late rally. Olivia Peters delivered a clutch single to score two runs, Gretchen Hansen followed with an RBI double, and Brock capped off the comeback with the game-winning sacrifice bunt to make it 6–5.

Nadia McCabe earned the win for the Lancers, allowing six hits and two runs over 4.1 innings without issuing a walk. Sophia Zepeda provided relief in the victory.

Peters led the way with two RBIs, while Livingston paced College of Lake County with two hits in three at-bats. The Lancers were also clean defensively, committing no errors, with Livingston leading the team with five plays in the field.

College of Lake County will travel to The Dome at the Parkway Bank Sports Complex in Des Plaines, IL this coming weekend for 4 games - On Saturday vs South Suburban (3:00pm) vs Waubonsee CC (5:00pm) and on Sunday vs. Elgin CC (11:00am) vs Joliet Junior College (3:00pm).
