Olivia Peters was dominant in the circle, striking out 12 batters to lead College of Lake County to a 23-0 win over Morton College Panthers on Wednesday. The right hander allowed just one hit over five shutout innings, walking none.
Megan Livingston paced the offense with a perfect 3-for-3 day at the plate, recording a triple, double, and single while driving the lineup throughout the game.
The Lancers wasted no time getting on the board in the first inning. Kaylin Worley delivered a two-run double, followed by an RBI single from LIndsey Radermacher to make it 3-0 early.
College of Lake County broke the game open in the second, plating six runs on five hits. Tyler Brock, Skye Meler, Kaylin Worley, and Cayden VonSande each drove in runs during the inning, while an error added another.
The offensive surge continued in the third, highlighted by extra-base hits from Megan Livingston, Tyler Brock, Lindsey Radermacher, and Cayden VonSande, with Olivia Peters also adding an RBI single.
CLC capped the scoring with a nine-run fourth inning, fueled by Tyler Brock, Skye Meler, Lindsey Radermacher, Addison Schroeder, and Megan Livingston, who all contributed RBIs in the frame.
The Lancers finished with 23 hits on the day. Tyler Brock led the team with four hits and five RBIs, while Cayden VonSande, Lindsey Radermacher, Olivia Peters, Megan Livingston, Skye Meler, Kaylin Worley, and Addison Schroeder all recorded multiple hits. Livingston also added two stolen bases as CLC totaled three on the day.
Defensively, College of Lake County was flawless, committing no errors, with Gretchen Hansen leading the way with 12 chances.
The Lancers are back in action Thursday, as they host a Prairie State College for a double header starting at 3:00PM.
